New Compaq F761us, a new Presario F-series model!

Hello Compaq Presario F-series laptop fans! There is yet another new F-series model introduced by Compaq. The latest one is the F761us, currently offered by Staples (April 13, 2008) for just $450 after a $30 Easy Rebate!

The new F761us is similar to the previous models, and it has a 15.4" widescreen display, AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core TK-57 processor, 1gb of RAM, 160gb of hard disk space, a supermultiformat dvd burner (dvd-rw, dvd+rw, dvd-ram, dvd-r, dvd+r), along with Vista Premium. What makes this even more tempting that the F572us which started this blog is that it has both a built-in webcam and a built-in memory card reader!

Given the price point, it's hard to find anything to complain about features-wise. Yes, there's a number of brand name laptops with 3gb RAM even, but they start in the $600s or higher. Its weight is around six pounds, so it's obviously no Lenovo X300 or MacBook Air!

More on this model coming later on! In the meantime, this is the Staples product page for the F761us.

Meet the Presario F750us, a new F-series notebook

The Presario F-series family has grown up with yet another laptop. We already talked about the Presario F572 extensively, and there was a very long discussion with 100+ comments on the follow-up, the Presario F730us. Now there is a new member of the F-family, the F750us.

Meet the Presario F750us
Continuing with the tradition of the F572us and the F730us as affordable bang for the buck, but also feature-packed laptops is the F750us!

It has an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core TK-57 1.9ghz processor, just like the previous models, 1gb of memory (maximum 3gb), a 120 GB Hard Disk Drive, and a 15.4" widescreen display (1280x800) fed by the Nvidia GeForce 7000M video card.

On the secondary feature tier, we find b/g wireless, 10/100 ethernet, multi-format dual layer dvd burner. It also adds something that the F572us does not have, a 5-in-1 memory card reader.

This laptop weighs approximately 5.68 pounds, while the 6-cell battery is rated somewhere between 1.5 to 2 hours. Ouch?

You also get the "lovely" MSFT Windoze Vista Premium which is popular with every single computer user in the world ;-)
