I only had the screen squishing with SLEEP. It hasn't happened (yet) with Hibernate.<br /><br />I didn't pay attention before as to whether the screen-squish and the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE happen one after the other. They certainly did today. I have also made sure that I'm running the latest/greatest from nVidia for the chipset.
